Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog. I welcome you to the conversation.
A little bit about me: I am a literacy professional striving to make reading and writing a lifestyle habit for all students while supporting classroom teachers in the amazing work they do.
I have worked fourteen school years in Piscataway, New Jersey. While I started my career as a fourth-grade classroom teacher, I have been a Literacy Content Area Specialist (or literacy coach) in the district since 2014. I currently work at the middle school level with about 20 teachers across the district.
I graduated from Kean University with a BA in Elementary Education and a Concentration in English. I obtained my MA, online at Walden University, in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (K-12). I also completed 15 credits at The College of New Jersey to obtain certification to teach English Language Learners, and another 15 credits at Rowan University for my Supervisor Certificate.
I currently live in High Bridge, New Jersey with my husband, Tony, and our daughter, Stella. We enjoy the outdoors- walking our dog, Ruby, and camping. I have always been an avid reader and with this blog, I’m starting my work as a writer.
You can contact me at literacycoachmusings@gmail.com or on Twitter at @litcoachmusings. You can also interact with me on my Facebook page @literacycoachmusings. I look forward to the conversation!
Hi!
I wanted to let you know that I have nominated your blog for an award! Not a bad way to start the new Year, eh? You can see it here: https://callingallcoachesblog.com/2018/01/13/paying-it-forward-the-liebster-award/
The Liebster Award is an award for bloggers from bloggers. Here are the terms of the award:
If you have been nominated for The Liebster Award AND YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT, write a blog post about the Liebster award in which you:
• Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog. Try to include a little promotion for the person who nominated you. They will thank you for it and those who you nominate will also help you out as well.
• Display the award on your blog — by including it in your post and/or displaying it using a “widget” or a “gadget”. (Note that the best way to do this is to save the image to your own computer and then upload it to your blog post.) I actually googled to see which ones I liked best.
• Write a 150-300 word post about your favorite blog that is not your own. Explain why you like the blog, provide links.
• Provide 10 random facts about yourself.
• Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award, who have a less than 200 followers. (Note that you can always ask the blog owner this since not all blogs display a widget that lets the readers know this information!). Once you have written and posted to the blog, notify the nominees, then provide a link to your blog.
